An annual tradition in the Valley, The Sangres Art Guild Fine Art Calendar Show and Sale features all of the entries from the 2025 Calendar Art Competition, including the 13 winners selected by juror Gloria Countryman to be published in the 2025 Calendar – “Peace in the Valley”.
Calendar Juror Gloria Countryman is an international award-winning artist, as well as a professional art critic.
Show runs May 4 – May 2025. The 3rd Street Gallery is open Thursday – Monday from 11am – 4pm.
June’s Bustin’ Out is the second show of the Sangres Art Guild 2024 season. It is an open-themed show welcoming visual art in all mediums, styles and themes, open to both member and non-members, and artists of all skill-levels.
People’s Choice Awards:
1st Place $75
2nd Place $50
Enter up to 3 pieces. Entry fee (per piece) $8 members, $16 non-members. Full Prospectus coming soon.
Membership is $35/year and includes benefits beyond reduced entry fees.

PROSPECTUS
This is an “Open” (No Theme) art show. All subjects and all 2D & 3D mediums are welcomed. You do NOT have to be a member to enter. Open to artists of all skill levels. People’s Choice awards, 1st Place $75, 2nd Place $50. Reception Saturday June 1, 11am – 4pm with refreshments.
Artwork for this show does NOT need to be “June” themed. Any subject matter and any media are acceptable.
INTAKE: Sunday & Monday, May 26 & 27, from 11am to 3pm.
LOCATION: The 3rd Street Gallery, 59000 N. Highway 69, Westcliffe, CO 81252.
REQUIRED FORMS: Intake form, waivers, and ID Tags for entries. Forms available at gallery & online.
INTAKE FEES PER ENTRY: Member: $8, Non-member: $16
AWARDS: People’s Choice - 1st Place - $75, 2nd Place - $50.
SHOW DATES: May 30 – June 29. Thursday thru Monday, 11am to 4pm.
OPENING RECEPTION: Saturday, June 1, 11am to 4pm
PICK UP: Sunday & Monday, June 30 & July 1, 11am to 3pm
PROMOTION: We recommend photographing your artwork before framing. Email your image files to socialmedia@sagboard.org.
Image files must be sent as attachments (not in the body of the email), with filenames in the following format: Title, medium, by Artist Name.jpg. For example, “Right at Home, photography, by Sandra Dalton.jpg”. It is important that you name your files correctly, including the commas and capitalization of your name.
THEME: This is an “Open” (No Theme) show.
ELIGIBILITY:
· Open to artists of all ages, Sangres Art Guild members and non-members.
· Artworks accepted in 2D and 3D in all mediums.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
· Each artist may submit up to 3 pieces.
· The same artwork cannot be entered more than once during the 2024 season except for the Calendar Show, APW, and Holiday Show.
· Attach ID Tags to the back or bottom of each entry: Name, Title, Medium, Price.
· Artwork must be original, no reproductions.
· Artist must own copyright or permission to use all resource materials.
· All 2-D artwork must be properly wired for hanging. Sawtooth hangers are not accepted. To learn how: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mdU0B8ov2Z0
· All 2-D artwork must be framed or have finished edges.
· Unframed gallery-wrapped canvases must be at least 1.25′′ deep with no exposed canvas fasteners and have finished edges such as a painted edge.
· Standard 3/4” deep canvases must be framed.
· All artwork on paper must be under glass, plexiglass, or suitably protected.
· SAG reserves the right to refuse entry during the hanging of the show due to size and space limitations. Artist will be notified and a refund for that piece will be given.
· SAG reserves the right to jury out artwork which fails to meet the SUBMISSION GUIDELINES.
SHOW RULES:
· Entries must be for sale during the length of show.
· SAG retains commissions at 30% for members and 40% for non-members.
· Artists must leave artwork for the full length of a show except if it is purchased. Changing or removing unsold art during the exhibit is prohibited.
· Work that is sold may be replaced with other artwork upon approval.
· Artist must advise the staff if artwork is to be picked up by another party.
· Artwork not accepted for an exhibit must be picked up within 7 days of notification unless arrangements are made with the gallery.
· Artwork left beyond 30 days at the end of the exhibit becomes the property of the Sangres Art Guild.

LIABILITY
Neither 3rd Street Art Gallery nor Sangres Art Guild accepts any liability for artwork associated with this show and sale. Artists must carry their own insurance.
Sangres Art Guild’s second show in 2024 called for visual art in all mediums, styles and themes and open to both member and non-members.
Enjoy the work of local and regional artists at the 3rd Street Gallery anytime from Thursday – Monday between 11am and 4pm.
Visitors can also see the work of our Sangres Art Guild volunteers, on display on the 2nd floor, view the artistic endeavors of our local Young Artists, and enjoy the view of the Sangres in the shade on our front porch where you might even catch one of our artists relaxing.
The “June’s Bustin’ Out” Opening Reception is the perfect way to spend your Saturday - mingling with local artists, having some refreshments, and enjoy a sampling of tunes by our local musicians.
You also get to vote for your top two favorite artworks in the People’s Choice awards. Receptions at the 3rd Street Gallery are free to attend.
July’s a Poppin’ is an open-themed art show judged by world-renowned wildlife conservation artist Vickie McMillan-Hayes.

We are excited to invite you to enter “For the Love of Animals”! While we will not turn away artwork in any them, only animal-themed works will be eligible for judging and prizes.
By popular demand, Sangres Art Guild and Wet Mountain Animal Welfare collaborate in presenting “For the Love of Animals”, judged by internationally recognized pencil artist Andy Mast.
50% of gallery commissions on the sale of artworks in the show will go to Wet Mountain Animal Welfare, our local animal rescue.
