JULY SHOW - SHADOWS & LIGHT

Shadows and Light is the theme for July, when the sun is high in the sky, we are reminded about the balance between light and darkness and the value of each. Just as during the dark months we light candles, during the brightest, we honor the shadows in however they speak to us while we are bathed in brilliant light.

This is our Artist’s Feedback show, those artists who want to have their work professionally evaluated can choose to do so by our excellent featured artist and highly reputable teacher, Ken McGowan. The reception is July 5th from 1-4pm with music and refreshments, please join us.

Join us during the reception to see what Stefanie Sere, KLZR news director chooses as the Community Award

And you could be the Mystery Award selector! Your favorite creation would garner $50 and a beautiful handmade ribbon!

Step up and be brave, allow us to enjoy your own creations, be our First Time Entry Award!

FEATURED ARTIST

Ken McGowan, reputable artist and teacher from Canon City is our featured artist for the reception only.

He has a strong focus on watercolor, acrylic, and pastel mediums and is interested in surrealism, light, and symbolic imagery. He has a successful track record of completing commissioned art and murals, and his work can be seen in various galleries, public schools, private residences and retail stores. Ken is a signature member of the Colorado Watercolor Society and the Pike’s Peak Watercolor Society.

Don't miss this one day opportunity to meet Ken, see his art and be mesmerized!

Visit his web site for more paintings and bio.

Ken did a truly amazing job of providing feedback to the artists who chose to be a part of it. After taking photos of all the paintings on Thursday before the show, he mulled them over and spent over 4 hours delving deep into the heart of the artist through their works. All the artists came away inspired and amazed. What a fabulous job he did! Below Sandi Dalton having her work discussed. And Elaine and Dale Coleman with Ken.
