2025 Winter/Spring Home School Art Classes
Classes offered in groups:
Grades 1-3
Grades 4-5
Grades 6-7
These classes are offered on the 2nd & 4th Wednesday's of the month, from Jan - May.
*We encourage the parents to drop the students off between 1:45-1:55pm so we may begin classes at 2pm*
Our teachers guide students through art projects in each session, allowing them to creatively express themselves, learn about art techniques and mediums, and learn about the talents of past and present artists!
Parents interested in enrolling their children for future programs, or teachers interested in becoming an art teacher or a teacher's assistant in a paid position, please contact our Education Coordinator, Liz VanSomeren, lvansomeren@sagboard.org.
Learn to Frame Your Artwork with Tim Diffenderfer
Make your own art frame and save $$!
Tim will demonstrate frame construction using wood-molding readily found at hardware stores.
Class topics includes matting your work, using glass vs. plexi-glass, types of glue, and material selection to make frames.
After obtaining a master's degree in fine art Tim worked in retail frame shops, owned his own frame shop, and is an active artist in several art galleries.
Class price for Members - $25 (Includes supplies)
Class price for Non-Members - $30 (Includes supplies)
Session scheduled for Wednesday, January 29th from 12:30pm-3pm
*In the event of inclement weather, the session will be moved to Wednesday, February 5th from 12pm-2:30pm*

Explore Abstract Art!
With over 20 years of painting experience and a background in scenic painting and murals, Desarae Buza has a passion for self-expression in her abstract artworks.
Join Desi to learn about abstract art composition and several color theory concepts while capturing expressive moments on your canvas. You’ll have the opportunity to apply fundamental abstract painting techniques as you create your own abstract acrylic artwork. Supplies are provided.
This class is for artists of all levels including beginners!
*Feel free to bring inspirational references or color palette samples.*
